Who is MARS?

      The MARS Gaming Guild is made up of players who've demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and teamwork, as well as sound judgment and respect for others.

How can I become a Guild member?

      Everyone who plays regularly on the MARS servers is already a member of the MARS Community. Frankly this is one of the best situations to be in, as you enjoy all the benefits of the servers, forums, and clubs without any of the responsibilities (save for showing good sportsmanship).

      We realize some people will still want to be a member of the MARS Guild, and though we don't discourage this aspiration, you should ask yourself if you want the additional responsibilities that come with Guild membership. For instance, members have to be part of rules and policy discussions, share the burden of administrating our servers, forum, and website, and help pay for all the services we provide free to the MARS Community.

      To become a candidate for guild membership, play on our servers, with us on other servers (e.g. Battlefield 2 servers), or in scheduled non-server events (e.g. Age of Mythology games) and demonstrate the qualities listed above.

      Note that this process can take quite a while, as we want to be sure we're not inviting any 'rotten apples'. Some of the many things we don't like to see are whiners, trashtalkers, egomaniacs, and people who yell at other players.

Why do I get errors when loading a custom DOD map?

      The most common problem is that the map download was interrupted before it was completed. If that happens, the game program can't tell that the partial file isn't the full one, so it doesn't try to re-download it later on.

      The solution is to go into your Steam DOD map folder and delete the files associated with the map you're having trouble with, thus allowing a fresh download when you connect again.

What is the <.O.> symbol on the intro page?

      This is the official symbol and tag of MARS. It's the planet Mars, surrounded by its two moons Deimos and Phobos. Some Guild members also use the MARS name.
